Longchamp Élysées The new home for stylist bags

Longchamp inaugurated with a number of prestigious guests their flagship store anchored on the Champs-Élysées, dedicated to ready-to-wear, accessories and all their iconic bags.

The inauguration of the largest European boutique Longchamp took place last December. The place is very Longchamp, very Champs, undeniably Parisian, and elegantly designed.

No doubt, the new flagship boutique of the brand combines panache and simplicity in the concept, details and materials already seen in other spaces with architectural and decorative specificities worthy of the most beautiful avenue in the world. How could it be otherwise in this space occupying 500 m2 on two levels, giving equal attention to leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes, and menswear, as to the collection of bags that are the hexagonal success story directed by the Cassegrain family? Light colors, ambient lighting, fine materials, and sleek design highlight the house models – like the mythical folding Pliage bag for which we celebrated it’s 25 years last year, the iconic Roseau, the Balzane, the Legend, etc. This superb place complies with the precepts of other Longchamp spaces yet while offering a bit more: a supplement of art. It is, indeed, the setting for a unique piece of artwork by Danish artist Astrid Krogh. Integrated into the space, this creation, which explores the artistic potential of existing materials and new technologies, plays with natural and artificial lights. Coming from the series Cloud Illusions, this thought provoking piece distorts light and texture itself at the heart of this shop. There is more than enough here to attract art lovers, tourists, as well as Parisians.

“This was one of our goals”, claims Jean Cassegrain, head of this flourishing company, when he explains the genesis of the 77 ave de Champs-Elysées. “You see, we are at home in Paris. This is where the Longchamp brand has emerged. In many ways, the personality of the capital reflects that of Longchamp: dynamic, stylish, elegant, surprising and always moving. To open a flagship store on the first shopping destination in the city, seemed to us to be essential. Especially when you consider that Paris and France account for a third of our sales. Also, this boutique allows you to discover all of our collections, and highlights all aspects of our expertise and style.” For those with the most exclusive of tastes, the 77 also has some very unique pieces. Thus, Jeremy Scott has designed, on the occasion of the inauguration, a limited edition bag with a name symptomatic of Longchamp’s ambitions for its new flagship store: Greetings from Paris.
