The sparkling Champs-Élysées

Set beneath the colorful, twinkling lights that stretch along the world’s most beautiful avenue, this traditional Christmas market (until January 8) and its busy stands, some devoted to arts and crafts, should definitely be on your festive list. Dotted with fairground attractions and restaurants, it totally transforms the avenue between the Rond-Point and Concorde. Before midnight on December 31, the Champs-Elysées will be counting down the minutes to the New Year with a light show projected against the Arc de Triomphe, followed by a parade, after which the avenue will be closed to cars on January 1. Not far away, under the glass roof of the Grand Palais, don’t miss the vast 2,700 sq.m. ice-skating rink with light shows, DJs and a dancefloor!
