Shangri-La Hôtel Paris Parade, fine food and surprises in store
The Chinese New Year is a day and festival like no other at the Shangri-La Hôtel Paris. A temple of temptation, exclusive refinement and reinvented traditions, this palace hotel is celebrating the New Year in style. On February 8, from 11am, the customary dance of the lion will begin in front of the hotel, followed by the “salad toss”. Performed by artists in the public areas, these ceremonies are considered to usher in a period of happiness and chase away evil spirits. At the start of lunch at the Shang Palace, red envelopes containing pieces of chocolate will be handed out to customers before they enjoy a special menu created by the chef. Subtly infused with the flavors of Asia, the gourmet dishes include braised ormer in oyster sauce, Charolais beef pan fried with shallots and fried taro, poached blue lobster with steamed egg white and sea urchins, and sauté of shrimp pancake with white asparagus.
