A breath of glamor and elation wafts through the doors of the store at 40, boulevard Haussmann; a warm wind from Italy that carries dreams and the promise of things exciting and new. That zephyr of joy stirs the air in the Galeries Lafayette, whose celebration of fashion icon Bvlgari continues until the end of the month. This second cooperative venture between the two establishments (two years after the opening of the jeweler’s pop-up boutique in the department store) is a very ambitious event. The fourteen windows of the Galeries Lafayette present Bvlgari creations on the theme of 60s Italian movies, whilst a giant carrousel dubbed ‘Pop (up) Corn’ welcomes visitors at the store’s Mogador entrance, presenting the firm’s limited editions and latest design innovations. Since the 1940s, jeweler Bvlgari – grandmaster of color – has built a reputation for its distinctive, bold, exuberant, immediately recognizable style, featuring parures in vivid shades and gloriously gleaming gemstones. As jeweler to the stars, Bvlgari brought an added sparkle to the greatest icons of the Sixties: Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra, Kirk Douglas, Elizabeth Taylor… and today, its unrestrained, liberated spirit and legendary aura of glamor bring their magic to the great department store on the boulevard Haussmann. The stars of the show are limited editions specially created for the occasion: a new version of the Diva’s Dream necklace in pink gold, diamonds and pink opals; the Serpenti watch with its new dial in pink mother of pearl; Serpenti bags and Serpenteyes glasses striped in gelati shades… When the Eternal City meets the City of Light, fireworks are inevitable!
