Prestigious British fashion house Burberry is celebrating the new lunar season with a very special event on China’s messaging platform – WeChat.

Pioneering luxury fashion brand Burberry has always had a knack for combining fashion and technology. Who could forget its Snapchat photo shoot? Or the launch of its interactive video experience with Google, and the instant ordering service for special items featured in its catwalk show streamed live on its website? Or its partnership with Dreamworks? Now Burberry has decided to celebrate the new lunar year with a unique experience on China’s messaging service WeChat. “A Lunar New Year Gift” is a messaging and shopping service dedicated to its fans. Using the app’s special features, Burberry customers can touch, swipe and shake a digital envelope created exclusively for the lunar year. The greetings card inside the envelope can be personalized and sent to friends and family via WeChat. Paper envelopes will also be handed out in stores throughout the lunar festival. As part of its New Lunar Year celebrations, Burberry has also created a special range of iconic clothes and accessories available in store and on Thanks to the online collect-in-store service, you can pick up your order the next day from the Burberry store closest to your home. Now that’s what we call style!
