Printemps Haussmann : Chinese spring
The rooster is both France’s national emblem and the zodiac sign of the Chinese New Year, rather neatly summing up the ties that bind France to its Asian friends. Internationally renowned as a quintessentially French department store, Le Printemps Haussmann, and its outpost at the Louvre, is keen to get in on the action. To celebrate the new lunar year, two areas have been garlanded with lanterns and decorated with roosters, and the store will be handing out gifts – fortune cookies and “secret” red envelopes – and selling items selected especially for the pleasure of Asian customers until February 19. Chopard, Christian Louboutin, Kenzo, Pierre Marcolini, MCM and others have all created products for the New Year. With Alicia Aylies, Miss France 2017, opening this two-week festival of fun, Le Printemps Haussmannn is pulling out all the stops to celebrate Franco-Chinese friendship.

GUCCI : Adopt the rooster style
Fashionistas can really strut their stuff this spring thanks to Gucci’s rooster range, which includes a bag and small leather goods, headscarves, a hair band, keyrings and sneakers. The symbol of the tenth sign of the Chinese zodiac, the rooster spreads its wings across two silk headscarves and shines on keyrings, where its tail is set with Swarovski crystals and its breast is proudly emblazoned with a Gucci pearl logo. The Dionysus bag has returned in a red version and with ramage detailing, first seen in the winter 2016 ready-to-wear collection. To add a finishing touch to any casual chic outfit, the Ace sneaker, one of Gucci’s most popular sports shoes, now features a finely embroidered rooster.
