Christmas market on the Champs-Élysées
A glittering thoroughfare of classically-lit trees, the avenue des Champs-Élysées, between the Champs-Élysées roundabout and the place de la Concorde, is lined with cheap stores with made in China products. Encouraged to improve their standards this year, many fail to offer better quality food or services. If you still want to go there you’ll see a 1,600 sq.m. ice-skating rink, funfair rides and the big wheel, or the New Year’s Day parade on the pedestrianized Champs-Élysées. During the festive season, the avenue will also be a testing ground for the Bluetram: a catenary- and rail-free electric tramway designed by the Bolloré group.
Iluminations until January 7, 6pm to 2am and throughout the night on December 24 and 31
Market: until January 3, 10am-11pm
