La Maison de la Reine restored to its former glory

For the first time in two centuries, visitors can now look inside the Maison de la Reine nestled in a hamlet built by Richard Mique for Marie-Antoinette, between 1783 and 1787, in the park of the Château de Versailles. The house has been completely renovated with help from Dior. The contrast between the picturesque, rustic exterior and the extreme sophistication of the incredibly luxurious interior is really surprising.

Maison de la Reine, château de Versailles. Guided tour at 2:45pm, €10.
