Gourmet Delights

Café Pinson at the Carreau du Temple

Following the success of the first Café Pinson in the 10th arrondissement, a second has opened in the upper Marais, with the same aim of proving that organic dishes can be both beautiful and healthy. Inspired by naturopathy, the food is served in a retro decor with exposed beams, raw wood tables, pollution-guzzling plants and Feng Shui ostrich eggs.

The welcome – warm and a little quirky – lives up to expectations. There’s no menu because diners fill their plate as they please. The ingredients board is like a journey to happy land, with a daily and seasonal selection of vegetables – some peculiar, others traditional.

The French-style menu is bold: we’re talking pear and licorice tart, savory madeleines and dairy-based desserts with silky smooth tofu! When you eat here, you do rather wonder if this a café or a restaurant. Difficult to tell. Oh whatever – it feels great!
