Le Café of the Beaux Arts Also known as the fifth workshop

A better location than this, impossible! Le Café des Beaux-Arts, situated at 7 quai Malaquais, facing the Louvre, beside the Musée d’Orsay, the Institut de France, and – how did you guess – the Beaux-Arts, as the name suggests! A typically French café which still has the architecture of traditional Parisian brasseries from the early twentieth century, which gives it its charm and reputation. By the way it is this bistrot, run by a man named Malfosse in the early twentieth century, when it was frequented by students of the Beaux-Arts, that was called by them “the fifth workshop” (which makes sense since there are only four workshops in the Fine Arts). It was also known as Malfosse’s workshop. Today the Café des Beaux-Arts is still a major cultural meeting place, which offers wines selected by our wine growers as well as more substantial fare from 7pm to 23pm. And to top it off, the service is also up to par!
