Bistros

Le Colvert

Both trained at the Institut Vatel, Emilie and Boris, partners in life and at work, began their careers in 2004 by taking over the family restaurant Le Christine in the Latin quarter, before acquiring Les Fous de l’île on Ile Saint Louis in 2008. Two establishments that follow the same philosophy: to offer quality bistronomic fare at a reasonable price and with no surprises thanks to prix-fixe menus at set prices. Bolstered by these two successful endeavors, they have recently taken over Le Colvert, a little bistro near their first location that they have carefully redecorated in a unique country style with the help of interior designer Estelle Williot. Behind a blood red facade, the restaurant boasts three dining rooms, two on the ground floor and one on the upper floor, all following a nature theme, with photographs, prints and paintings of forests and the countryside, period wood paneling and mallard blue bench seating! The restaurant quickly earned an excellent reputation and is now packed with tourists and Parisians looking to eat well at a good price. From the seasonal menu, we selected parsleyed Jura snails in tempura, with spinach and potato mousse. An original version that was truly enjoyable. If you love grilled meats, don’t hesitate to stray from the prix-fixe menu and opt for the gorgeous 1kg Normandy beef rib to share (€65 for two), tender and cooked exactly as you ordered, served with grenaille potatoes and homemade pepper sauce. A tasty molten pistachio cake with white chocolate whipped cream rounded the meal off nicely. Prix-fixe menu with dessert of the day at €19.90, main dish + starter or dessert at €15.90 or daily special at €13.90 served at lunch from Monday to Friday. Prix-fixe dinner menu at €30 and €35 or main dish at €19.
