Longines Celebrating precision and expertise

To mark its 185th anniversary, the watchmaking company with the winged hourglass logo has released several new timepieces to celebrate its rich and fascinating history.

Wings in flight

To coincide with the 90th anniversary of the crossing of the Atlantic by Charles Lindberg, for whom Longines developed a special timepiece, and the 60th anniversary of the launch of its Flagship collection, one of the most iconic in its long history, the Swiss brand has launched a new numbered limited edition, the Flagship Heritage 60th Anniversary. Available in steel (limited to 1957 watches, the year of its release), yellow gold or rose gold (60 watches), inspired by the timepiece chosen by the Longines ambassador, Kate Winslet from the brand’s museum, it has an L609 mechanical caliber in a 38.5 mm case, and a back that bears a stamped caravel – the flagship.

Symbol of perfection

Longines has long been renowned for its dedication to sports timing. To keep this tradition alive, the watchmaker recently launch the Conquest V.H.P. collection at the Neuchâtel Observatory in Switzerland. This range of watches and chronographs equipped with a quartz caliber is heir to the research conducted by Longines in the 1950s to achieve absolute precision. Now these timepieces have a thermo-compensated quartz movement, protective ceramic casing and magnetic field sensors to make it accurate to within 5 seconds a year. These ultra-performance watches with a stylish sporty design are available in two sizes and are the most precise in the non-connected world. n
