Maison Maison a new trendy spot

Even though so many Parisians have complained about the closing of the Right Bank expressway, the conversion of the quays into a pedestrian walkway has delighted hipsters, ecologists, joggers, runners and others, providing them with a new playground for their jaunts by the Seine… and breaks at new eateries, such as Maison Maison. A talented journalist and founder of the new chic, stylish lifestyle magazine Mint, Déborah Pham has moved in at the foot of the Pont Neuf bridge, opening a delightful contemporary riverside bistro on a simple al fresco terrace (until a permanent building holding a dining room is completed in September!). Equipped with deckchairs, tables and wooden folding chairs, it provides a welcome, relaxing break opposite the Île de la Cité. The charming epicurean has made sure the place has everything it needs to succeed by asking Adriana Seghetta – who formerly presided over the stoves of the Deux Amis – to cook up bistro based, locally sourced dishes for the lunchtime slate. The menu promises a truly delightful culinary experience: escabèche clams (€9); fillet of duck breast, Kalamata olives, cherries and sorrel (€13); and cream of lemon with citrus. Meals are delicious, hip, fun… and genuinely inexpensive! At diner, the party goes on in simpler style with charcuterie, cheeses and a few desserts washed down with Deck and Donohue draught beer or glasses of meticulously selected wines. A new chic spot that will soon be an essential Parisian port of call! Lunchtime menus at €19 and €23.
