A summer at Printemps

From July 18 to September 1, the Printemps Haussmann department store is celebrating Paris lavishly, bringing together great Parisian institutions and essential addresses in a remarkable exhibition. Bonjour, Paris!

‘Paris will always be Paris’ sang Maurice Chevalier. But where would the French capital be without its Opéra National, which is celebrating its 350th anniversary this year? Or the Ritz Escoffier school, whose culinary excellence has been delighting the city for thirty years? Or the world-famous Bateaux-Mouches or the iconic Crazy Horse? Without those legendary institutions and magical names, would Paris still be Paris? Wishing to pay tribute to such symbols whose individual worlds – each in their own way – say something about the city, Printemps Haussmann presents ‘A Summer in Paris’ in partnership with eight Enterprises of Excellence. Planned as an extraordinary escapade through the heart of the capital, the exhibition offers brand-new experiences and ‘freeze frames’ to (re)introduce the city in a new way, staging collections exclusively designed for the event.

In a homage to culinary art à la française, the Printemps showcases the illustrious Ritz Escoffier school opened three decades ago in the heart of the kitchens of the Ritz Paris, with two store windows and a pop-up store presenting its range of delicatessen products. A declaration of love for the country’s gastronomy that the Printemps also extends to the Perruche restaurant, made famous in July 2018 with its location of choice at the top of the Printemps de l’Homme. During ‘Summer in Paris’, Perruche will be open until 2 in the morning, serving simple, delicious dishes in the skies of Paris.

Experiencing the city in a different way is the aim of Printemps in partnership with emblematic institutions promoting the Parisian way of life. The Opéra National de Paris is magnificently fêted with store windows and a pop-up store revealing candles, tableware and books in the colors of the establishment. And this year, the essential Compagnie des Bateaux-Mouches, whose fifteen boats carry nearly 2.5 million people each year, is celebrating 70 years of cruises on the Seine, and has chosen to do so at Printemps Haussmann with some amazing special offers! From Seine to show, there is just one dance step. Paris masters that art like no other metropolis – the Crazy Horse is the proof. An unrivaled attraction and unforgettable cabaret since it was founded in 1951, it is honored in the store windows of the boulevard Haussmann and is partnering the Printemps to offer some spectacular discounts. Then, to explore the capital, there is nothing like the Maison Tamboite’s bicycles, craft-manufactured since 1912. The firm’s skills are presented in the ‘Le Salon’ area. Then there are escapades with Bentley Paris-Seine and Helipass, both hosted in the store windows on the boulevard Haussmann. On water or in the air, on stage with an opera or cabaret, Paris is very much a multilayered story that continues to form the stuff of dreams in both summer and winter.
