A tree of books on the Pont du Carrousel
Following installations on the Pont des Arts, the Salpêtrière Chapel, the Quai de Conti, and the Museo de la Cancilleria in Mexico,
a giant work by Daniel Hourdé has been erected in March on the Pont du Carrousel. The Tree of a Thousand Voices, about ten meters tall, made of a multitude of books with leaves taking flight, symbolizes strength and life. Clad in gold, swaying with the wind and elements, shimmering in the sun, the promise of hope through shimmer is a recurring theme in Daniel Hourdé’s work. The tree reveals its ability to resist, adapt, and be resilient through its deformations. It bends and twists but does not break, against the wind of intolerance.
