Dior x Alaïa, a duo of masters

Barely arrived from his native Tunisia, a young Azzedine Alaïa made a brief but decisive stop in the Parisian ateliers of Monsieur Christian Dior. It was 1956, and until his passing in 2017, the couturier would retain an unwavering admiration for the creator of the New Look, going so far as to acquire more than half a thousand of his designs over the course of his life. A dual exhibition, “Azzedine Alaïa et Christian Dior, deux maîtres de la couture”, retraces this story, carefully orchestrated by the eminent curator Olivier Saillard. At the Galerie Dior (housed within the brand’s flagship), around one hundred Dior pieces from Alaïa’s collection are presented, while the eponymous foundation in the Marais will, from 15 December onward, bring into dialogue some sixty garments signed by both designers.

  • Fondation Alaïa: December 15 – May 24, 2026.
  • Galerie Dior: until May 3, 2026.
