Kanoun, the new spot for Oriental delights
An understated space free from traditional nick knacks, Kanoun, which recently opened under the inspired leadership of two business partners, Lamine and Stéphane, in the heart of the 11th arrondissement, is like no oriental tearoom you’ve ever seen before. The name of this sophisticatedly snug café designed by Studio Vincent Eschalier means “fireside”.
The Carrara marble counter is heaving with an enticing selection of light sweets with a new take on traditional deserts including makrut (date and walnut), baklawa, marzipan and fig, and gazelle horns (almonds), to enjoy in the intimacy of one of three alcoves. A great chance to enjoy Eastern delicacies in a décor with Art Deco touches.
