Flavors of France and Morocco at Meha
Issam Ayari, a cooking enthusiast who began his career as an accountant, finally realized his dream of opening his own restaurant. To carry out this daring conversion, he enrolled in the Passerelle program, which trains young talents from various backgrounds in the restaurant business. Thus, Ayari quickly climbed the gastronomy ladder by working in renowned establishments – Meurice, Aux Prés de Cyril Lignac, Coretta by Beatriz Gonzalez –, or at the Saint-Germain restaurant at the Lutétia Hotel. Armed with this experience, he opened this charming and elegant restaurant in the picturesque suburbs of the Montmartre hill. As soon as you enter, you are struck by its warm atmosphere. The decoration, although not from a famous design signature, is undeniably charming. Wicker chairs and light fixtures create an intimate atmosphere, while the white banquettes and midnight blue cushions add a touch of sophistication. The imperial green tiling and bouquets of tropical leaves finally bring an exotic freshness to the whole. Despite a concise menu, this restaurant offers an original culinary experience. The remarkable langoustine ravioli, prepared with a rich and tasty bisque made from the crustacean’s shells, is a real treat (€12). Equally delectable, the Salers beef entrecote (€26) is cooked to perfection and accompanied by an impeccable meat juice and a bouquet of greenery. Finally, for dessert, succumb to the temptation of the chou of the moment (€9), generously filled with a well-flavored cream. Issam Ayari has therefore been able to transform his dream into a culinary reality, thus offering his guests a really pleasant menu. His atypical journey, from accountant to talented chef, is inspiring and shows how important it is to live your passion. So, if you are looking for a flavorful gastronomic experience in a unique setting and atmosphere, don’t hesitate: this restaurant is for you.
