Le Printemps has opened a new department store dedicated to men. Showcasing a range of products exclusively for the male of the species, it's a truly unique place.
The 11,000 sq.m. new Printemps de l’Homme on boulevard Haussmann is a department store exclusively dedicated to fashion, accessories and lifestyle products for men. Spread over six floors, the range combines tradition and modernity, exclusive items and innovative brands catering to every taste, from original to classic to casual. To be sure to draw in the crowds, Le Printemps has commissioned an architectural folly from three firms of architects: Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the London-based Universal Design Studio and the Ciguë collective. It’s a masculine mix of exposed wood and streamlined furniture crowned by a spectacular futuristic vertical dome – inspired by the original in the main store – by design studio Yabu Pushelberg. This intriguing 26-meter-high architectural structure stretches from the ground of the third floor to the building’s glass ceiling. The vast store-front windows that give on to the boulevard, which used to be hidden away, now afford views over Paris, letting the daylight flood in, which makes a huge difference!
Because 21st century man buys out of desire rather than necessity, the store offers a selection of 250 brands, including 80 new labels, 40% of which are available exclusively at Le Printemps! They include everything from Italian classics like Prada, Armani and Gucci, to high-end labels such as Dior, De Fursac and Saint Laurent, and bold pieces by one-of-a-kind designers including J.W. Anderson, Undercover and Raf Simons. There’s also a huge range of shoes, sportswear and jeans in every conceivable shape and size, including exclusive designs by Acne Studios, Momotaro and Naked & Famous, plus two premium concepts – customization and a made-to- measure service, Lot N°1 – to enjoy in store. To celebrate the opening of this new space, the store asked top brands to imagine 150 exclusive garments. Full time personal shoppers are also on hand to help customers make their sartorial selections. The VIP lounges enjoy their own entrance from rue de Provence for greater privacy. Selected luxury cabins are even fitted with a high-tech bathroom!
