In a few decades, the Villette basin has transformed into a very pleasant place to live where, during the summer, the area takes on the appearance of a coastline! You can sail the waters on electric or cruise boats, barges, but also in ‘little swimmer’ mode thanks to the seasonal Paris-Plages operation, organized for twenty years by the city. It’s not a question of splashing anywhere in the Canal de l’Ourcq, obviously, but in the giant, free, gridded swimming area located on the Quai de la Loire. Apart from the three basins where water sports are the order of the day (rowing, pedal boats, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, kayak polo, etc.), the two-legged and two-armed fish that we are also have deckchairs, foosball tables, and even out- door libraries at our disposal.
