Blanca puts Argentina on the menu

Building on the success of his restaurant Biondi, chef Fernando de Tomaso opened Blanca in association with his sister Violetta Hernandez, who also serves in the kitchen of this adorable pocket restaurant. Blanca is a tribute to their grandmother who was a true cordon-bleu. We like the warm setting combining stone and exposed beams, leather benches and Spanish-style tiles inherited from the former Volver restaurant. We also come for Violetta’s adorable welcome, which leads back and forth from the kitchen to the dining room to give a kiss to a regular or to advise new clients. Everything between the preparation of some beautiful plates… of Argentine inspiration, of course, but with some incursions in French cuisine. As proof, this poultry with yellow wine and morels that was on the menu on the day of our test. Choose without hesitation the beautiful home-made specialties: beef carne empanadas (€14) topped with a filling as tasty as mellow or perfect clams with ajillo (€14) whose chardonnay stock we finished until the last drop. Continue with one of the very beautiful perfectly cooked and very generously served meats, such as the Angus beef (24 €), or the Argentinian entrecôte (30 €), accompanied by fries (of competition!), chimichurri, chipotle mayo and a salad mix. Congratulations, finally, for the desserts that could be served without blushing on a gastronomic table, like the caramel flan of the abuela Blanca and variation of dulce de leche (10 €). Live musical atmosphere on Wednesday evening.
