Le Meurice A surrealist palace

For more than 180 years, Le Meurice continues to impress its guests for the view over the Tuileries garden, its unparalleled service and its artsy vibe. In the heart of the Fashion district, the first Parisian palace looks fresher than ever with new seducing offers at its restaurants and at the hotel bar.

One of the City of Light most precious jewels lies deep in the heart of historic Paris. Just a step away from the Louvre Museum and facing the Tuileries gardens, Le Meurice embodies French excellence in the art of elegant living. Since 1835 the hotel welcomed monarchs, aristocrats, artists and writers as well as the most powerful men delighted by the highly Parisian charms of Le Meurice. Ever since, its story has been exceptionality maintained by decorator Charles Jouffre, the man behind the décor of the great lobby of the Opéra Garnier, who, in 2008, brought all the style of a 18th century residence to the luxury hotel. Among the hotel 118 rooms and 42 suites the Belle Étoile Royal Suite on the top floor; 275 sq. m. opening onto a private panoramic terrace that provides one of the most unforgettable views of Paris. Recently renovated, the three Presidential Suites styled to reflect 18th century tastes offer a unique view of the Tuileries garden. In this décor of woodwork and silks, antique books and 19th century paintings of these temples of excellence, time seems to be on hold.

The artist Salvador Dalí himself drew inspiration for his surrealist works there, staying in one of the Presidential Suites for at least a month every year for more than three decades. Today, the Spaniard’s genius lingers like a note suspended in the air of the hotel – Le Dalí restaurant surrealist décor has been revamped by the famous designer Philippe Starck. At this restaurant, guests can savor Mediterranean and Parisian dishes or taste the delicious desserts from the talented Cédric Grolet who has been awarded Best Restaurant Pastry Chef in the world. This Spring the hotel has teamed up with the Chef to open its first pastry shop on rue de Castiglione nearby. Foodies have now the choice to taste the pastry chef sweet masterpieces at home or at the hotel! Recently updated, the gourmet Restaurant le Meurice Alain Ducasse is brighter and more contemporary than ever with new seats and artworks. The Chef Jocelyn Herland cuisine has been awarded 2 stars by the Michelin Guide that makes both Parisian and international gastronomic customers come running. Those who would like to taste the impressive cooking of Chef Jocelyn Herland will be delighted to try one of the meals he has elaborated for Le Dalí.

To embrace the Parisian informal Brasserie spirit, the Chef has created a ”semainier”, which offers a different main course every week day. Parisians and travellers coming to Paris, rush to the hotel every Sunday for the brunch with its delicate buffets and the “à la carte” main dish. Every evening, the Bar 228 which extends to the Galerie Pompadour is one of the capital’s precious spots. With its British style and a unique atmosphere, it offers a wide range of signature cocktails. Le Meurice is also a tranquil oasis with its Valmont spa where guests could experience acclaimed cares dedicated to beauty and wellbeing such as the majestic treatment or the new Essence of Bees complex. At the spa, in its restaurants or in its marvelous suites, Le Meurice continues to write its legend, enriched by the histories of those who keep it alive. A legend inscribed in the ink of dreams.
