Art Paris 2026 A festival of emotions

From April 9 to 12, beneath the glass roof of the Grand Palais, Art Paris returns as the great springtime rendezvous where modern and contemporary art unfold in all their brilliance.

The success of Art Paris continues to grow, with record-breaking figures in 2025: 86,975 visitors, 170 exhibitors from 25 countries, and more than 990 artists – 40% of them women.

Under the direction of Guillaume Piens, this 28th edition, held from April 9 to 12 at the Grand Palais, promises both escape and reflection, a dialogue between art and our time. This spirit is embodied by galleries such as A2Z Art Gallery, presenting Aung Ko, and Galerie Nathalie Obadia, showcasing Valérie Belin. This year, two bold thematic journeys invite visitors to explore new perspectives.

The first, “Babel – Art and Language in France,” curated by Loïc Le Gall, brings together 22 artists, including Jean Dubuffet (d. 1985) and Laure Prouvost (b. 1978), who question the very substance of language itself. Art becomes a laboratory of signs, where text and image reshape our relationship to words and meaning. The second theme, “Repair,” is an emotional journey guided by Alexia Fabre, newly appointed associate director of the Centre Pompidou Francilien in Massy. Through a selection of around twenty artists – including Nú Barreto, Rachel Labastie, and Shilpa Gupta – visitors are invited to weave connections between past and present.

Each work becomes an ode to resilience and care. This poetic exploration of the human condition, with its deep need for repair, emerges as a promise of hope. Another highlight is the “Promesses” sector, thoughtfully curated by art critic Marc Donnadieu, where 27 galleries less than ten years old captivate audiences with their boldness. Here, visitors discover emerging artists such as Nicolas Boulard and Juanita McLauchlan – new voices resonating with strength and sincerity. Galerie La Forest Divonne and Galerie Anne-Laure Buffard will also present promising talents, reminding us that art is always an exploration of the unknown. And then there is “French Design Art Edition.” Under the direction of Jean-Paul Bath and Sandy Saad, this space – where art meets design – highlights unique, collectible pieces that blur the boundaries between disciplines. To conclude this celebration of art, the BNP Paribas Banque Privée Prize, endowed with €40,000, will be awarded to a living artist from the French art scene, recognizing the vitality and richness of contemporary creation.
