Rosie Jolie, the new-generation brasserie
At Rosie Jolie, there is both the spirit of the Riviera and the energy of a Parisian brasserie reimagined for a new generation. Set on Avenue Raymond-Poincaré between Victor-Hugo and Trocadéro, the address unfolds like a journey between Paris and Nice.
From the moment guests enter, the space impresses with its generous proportions, sleek modernity and unmistakable business-lunch atmosphere. Yet the décor quickly softens any corporate rigidity through a profusion of warm Mediterranean details: saffron-colored banquettes, Riviera-inspired frescoes, vintage ceramics, soft lighting and subtle Fauvist accents. The restaurant works equally well for polished business lunches and long neighborhood dinners that stretch deep into the evening. At midday, local professionals fill the room, drawn as much by the efficient and charming service as by the setting itself. By night, the atmosphere relaxes considerably as locals, tourists and groups of friends take over the dining room in a more festive mood.
On the plate, Rosie Jolie embraces the pleasures of a generous brasserie with southern influences. Alongside perfectly executed classics – steak tartare, côte de bœuf, truffle croque-madame or floating islands – the menu ventures toward Mediterranean comfort dishes including pissaladière, petits farcis, fried eggplant and linguine with pistou. The cooking is flavorful, generous and, notably for the neighborhood, reasonably priced. Service remains young, polished and efficient throughout. A large terrace – best enjoyed at lunchtime – and a rooftop bar called Bigoudi complete one of the 16th arrondissement’s most unexpectedly lively new addresses.
