Gourmet Delights

Épopée

A new arrival in the Charonne neighborhood, Épopée establishes itself as a contemporary address where culinary authenticity meets effortless conviviality. The venue is led by Thomas Legrand, in charge of the wine cellar, and his partner Megumi Terao, the welcoming soul of the house. Having worked at demanding institutions such as Okuda, Thoumieux, and Anicia, Megumi brings a sharp eye for detail and a fluid, never-stiff sense of hospitality. In the kitchen, chef Yurika Kitano – trained in Japan and refined in Parisian restaurants such as Passage 53, Clamato, and Pilgrim – delivers a precise, instinctive cuisine of great finesse. The vegetable plays a central role, the sauces are clean, the flavors clear and expressive. The menu reflects this balance beautifully: seared scallops with Jerusalem artichokes and beurre blanc, perfectly cooked saddle of veal with cabbage and quince condiment, and a deconstructed tarte Tatin, light and original, served with hay ice cream. Sourcing is rigorous: organic bread from Thierry Breton, vegetables from a farm in the Perche, fish from Maison Jego. Wine lover Thomas Legrand curates a list of around 100 organic, biodynamic, and natural wines from across France. A beautiful address to discover, both for its delicate cuisine and its inviting setting, with well-spaced tables and private salons. Lunch menu €29, set menu €24.
