Chopard Peach perfect

When we glance at a watch, it’s not always to remind ourselves of the passage of time. On occasion, we simply want to admire a dial so beautiful we’ll never grow tired of it. This was the poetic idea behind Chopard’s pink gold watch L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Monkey, an incredibly refined model inspired by China. Because people born in the Year of the Monkey are considered cultivated, inventive, curious, creative, and because the monkey gathering eight peaches is a traditional Chinese theme that symbolizes longevity and good fortune, it naturally adorns the dial of this precious watch with a superbly slim caliber and automatic movement made by Chopard’s in-house experts. For this work in Urushi lacquer, used to imprison gold dust motifs, Chopard worked with the firm Yamada Heiando, official purveyor to the Japanese imperial family. The idea to marry Swiss excellence with Japanese refinement in celebration of the Chinese New Year is as fabulous as the result itself.
