Rimowa lands in rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré

German high-end luggage manufacturer Rimowa has picked Paris as the location for its flagship store. Spanning five floors, it carries all of the brand’s luggage collections, including Topas, in aluminum alloy and prized for its robustness, Salsa, which has a popular light polycarbonate design, and Gourmet, ideal for transporting wine and champagne bottles or cigars. The store’s design is inspired by Rimowa’s signature ribbed aluminum cases, which celebrate the golden age of civil aviation and the Duralumin fuselage of the Junkers F13, which the company has reproduced and put back in the sky! The store also has a screening room, devoted to a movie about the Junkers F13 by Rimowa project, a customer service area and a repair studio. Lastly, pride of place is given to the new Rimowa Electronic Tag. Launched in 2016, this new technology enables travelers to rapidly check-in their luggage with Lufthansa and Eva Air using their smartphone at automatic counters, saving them valuable time.
