The artistic fusion of Perrier-Jouët and Atelier Montex

In an era where the pursuit of exclusivity and luxury knows no bounds, Maison Perrier-Jouët has once again redefined the pinnacle of opulence with its latest offering: Ode à la Nature. This extraordinary initiative marries the finesse of Haute Couture embroidery with the illustrious tradition of Champagne-making, presenting a spectacle of artistry and elegance that captures the essence of luxury.

Ode à la Nature emerges from the storied collaboration between Maison Perrier-Jouët and the prestigious Atelier Montex, an embroidery house with a rich heritage that is now part of the Chanel group’s Métiers d’Art, housed at Le 19M in Paris. Together, they have created something truly magnificent – a limited edition of just 10 pieces, each a testament to the intertwined legacy of art, nature, and the art of champagne itself. The collaboration draws inspiration from the Art Nouveau move- ment, a period marked by its celebration of natural forms and structures. Émile Gallé, a master of Art Nouveau, is a figure of profound significance for Maison Perrier-Jouët, his anemone motif an iconic emblem of the brand.

The Libellule (dragonfly) design, which adorns a jeroboam of Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque champagne, pays homage to this legacy with a modern twist that is both breath- taking and innovative. The creation of Libellule was a feat of engineering and artistry, involving a year of research and development to perfect a delicate and complex structure that was 3D-printed, galvanised with nickel, plated with 24-carat gold, and finally hand-painted in the verdant hues emblematic of Maison Perrier-Jouët. This sculptural marvel was then adorned with intri- cate hand-embroidered details by a single artisan from Atelier Montex, a process that took an astonishing 75 hours to complete. Maison Perrier-Jouët has selected three exceptional vintages to accompany this masterpiece, each representing the House’s unpa- ralleled savoir-faire and the continuous evolution of its elegant floral style. The vintages, drawn from different decades, offer an exquisite journey through time, capturing the essence of Perrier- Jouët’s craftsmanship and legacy. This venture is not just an ode to nature but a dialogue between two houses that share a vision of luxury, excellence, and a passion for artisanal savoir-faire. The collaboration between Maison Perrier-Jouët and Atelier Montex represents a fusion of the art of champagne with the art of embroidery, revealing surprising parallels in their respective crafts. This project is a showcase of innovation, tradition, and the exquisite mate- rials that define luxury.
