La Renommée

La Renommée, the eagerly anticipated Parisian venue of the American group Hogsalt, has opened its doors in a historic building on rue Saint-Honoré. Behind its preserved façade, this restaurant exudes a charm of bygone days, immersing its guests in 19th century Paris. Dark leather banquettes, aged wood paneling, period chandeliers, and antiqued mirrors are paired with floral tapestries and baroque paintings sourced from across Europe, creating a captivating, timeless atmosphere against a backdrop of jazz music. The culinary offerings blend classic French dishes with New York influences—roasted bone marrow with garlic toast (€32) and sole meunière (€68) sit alongside a decadent West Village-style double cheeseburger (€32) and a savory aged New York steak (€85). The kitchen prides itself on sourcing high-quality ingredients from top artisans such as Boucheries Nivernaises for meats, Maison Colom for fruits and vegetables, and La Grande Crèmerie for dairy. The experienced sommelier Lucie Fara curates an extensive wine and spirits list to enhance the dining experience, offering pairings with the house’s signature dishes. The bar area features classic cocktails from martinis to negronis and old fashioneds, alongside bold non-alcoholic concoctions. Another gem of La Renommée is its speakeasy hidden in the basement – a cozy salon that beckons guests to linger over a last drink or a comforting dessert.
