Jungle Palace

A rising figure of a new generation of restaurateurs at just 25 years old, Jade Frommer has created Ephemera in partnership with Annaïg Ferrand. This unique concept in France of immersive themed restaurants already boasts three addresses: Stellar, Under the Sea, and the latest, Jungle Palace. Located near the Gare de l’Est, the jungle-themed establishment is a success, already operating at full capacity. The setting is breathtaking, with walls projecting images of an Avatar-like jungle with lions or elephants parading before you, complemented
by a soundscape. For Jade Frommer, a former student of the Institut Paul Bocuse, the plate is as important as the decor. One steps without hesitation into this imaginary and enchanting world to relish seasonal exotic cuisine by executive chef Laurélia Costanzia with beautiful sharing plates like the succulent roasted eggplant with labné and chimichurri sauce (€10). Then we succumbed to the aptly named and famous tiger that cries (€20), a perfectly cooked marinated flank steak accompanied by baby potatoes and an Asian-inspired chimichurri sauce. Even vegans are celebrated here. We recommend the Naté cauliflower (€15), lightly crisp, topped with butter chicken sauce, fried grapes, slivered almonds, and spiced rice. At dessert time, a brioche perdue, drizzled with salted caramel, served with vanilla crème anglaise and caramelized hazelnuts (€8), provides an exquisite conclusion to a flawless meal paired with reasonably priced wines.
