A new galerie to celebrate Andrée Putman’s legacy
To celebrate the centenary of design icon Andrée Putman (1925–2013), Aurélie Laure – now head of Studio Andrée Putman – together with Olivia Putman, who continues to oversee artistic direction, breathe new life into this remarkable legacy with the opening of a gallery bearing her name on avenue de Saxe. Set within a luxurious loft nestled in a private garden that houses the studio’s workshops, the gallery presents, by appointment, around thirty re-editions. New interpretations and archival pieces pay tribute to this major figure in design and interior architecture. Lighting fixtures, the round sofa, the Constellation au Carré carpet, and furniture pieces all testify to her refined graphic vision. Often called the “Coco Chanel of design,” Putman created interiors for Concorde aircraft, the staircase of Le Bon Marché, and the Morgans Hotel in New York. She collaborated with LVMH, Veuve Clicquot, Montblanc, Guerlain, and Christofle – whose iconic Vertigo collection is presented here through remarkable pieces. This immersion into her world precedes the opening of a New York gallery in the studio of her friend Keith Haring. Her monumental body of work continues its journey of excellence.
By appointment only, 9am–6pm
