Japan Expo celebrates 25 years of pop culture
Some anniversaries deserve to be celebrated properly. From July 9 to 12, Japan Expo marks its 25th edition with an expanded program, a brand-new hall and a celebration of Japanese culture in all its forms. Concerts, cosplay competitions, craftsmanship, gastronomy and manga culture will once again attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to Villepinte, while a retrospective exhibition built from archival material retraces the festival’s evolution over the past quarter-century. Now welcoming more than 250,000 attendees each year, Japan Expo has firmly established itself as one of Europe’s essential pop-culture gatherings – and shows no signs of slowing down.
