Rolex enhances its setting at Galeries Lafayette
The completely redesigned space of the Rolex House of Fine Watchmaking now extends over 250 m2 in duplex at Galeries Lafayette. The architects of Interior Design Rolex in Geneva have imagined a warm place with a unique character echoing the panache of the crown brand. On the ground floor, a large façade in fluted travertine and brushed brass reveals a counter behind which a stucco takes the motif of the dome of Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann. The Watch Bar topped by Cyclope chandeliers – a tribute to the Cyclope magnifying glass created in 1953 – invites you to discover a sumptuous range of Oyster Perpetual and Cellini watches. The impressive Alpi Verde marble wall with its grooved water veins evokes the iconic fluted bezel and the first waterproof wristwatch from 1926. The floor sublimates the watchmaking know-how with a counter and a large smoked glass partition that houses the workshop and the work of master watchmakers. Intimate, this universe perfectly embodies Rolex’s “perpetual” philosophy for which watches are transmitted from one generation to the next, living several lives by perpetuating the symbol of prestige and reliability. An irresistible luxury!
