Open since 2015 in the heart of the Old Marais, in the inner courtyard of the majestic Hôtel de Belize, Grancoeur is the Parisian annex of Mauro Colagreco, the two-star Argentinian chef of Mirazur in Menton, which was just named the world’s fourth best restaurant and best restaurant in France in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. The new location required a chef up to the task, and that chef would be Brazilian Rafael Gomes. The vintage dining room with stunning beams and stone walls is bathed in the light of soaring bay windows that look out over the cobblestone courtyard and the peaceful terrace. A rare and enchanting spot where “Rafa” expresses his passion for seasonal produce with astonishing sincerity and remarkably subtle, elegant cuisine. We loved the roasted beets with feta and Kalamata olive tapenade (€12) just as much as the rack of Basque veal done to perfection and served with white asparagus, rhubarb and hibiscus (€32). The desserts were equally blissful, with a special mention to the peanut, date and toffee semifreddo (€13), an incredibly addictive dessert! The second dining room, known as Le Jardin or garden, exudes a different atmosphere and features a lovely tasting menu at €69 (5 courses plus appetizers to start) with a seasonal, plant-based focus. Two-or-three course prix-fixe lunch menu (€23 or €30).
Noon to 2:30pm and 7:15pm to 10:30pm Closed Sunday for diner and Monday Average price: €55.
