Domaines Ott, 130 years of Provençal elegance
Some names transcend generations without ever losing their luster. Since Marcel Ott founded the estate in 1896, Domaines Ott has cultivated a singular vision of Provençal winemaking, built around a simple belief: allowing each terroir to express its own personality with precision and elegance.
This year carries particular significance as the house marks its 130th anniversary. The milestone reflects not only the depth of its history but also the continuity of a savoir-faire passed down through generations. Today, Jean-François Ott, representing the family’s fourth generation, upholds the same exacting standards, guided by a deep respect for nature, an unwavering commitment to terroir, and a long-term vision rooted in stewardship and transmission.
Over the decades, Domaines Ott has assembled a remarkable vineyard portfolio across Provence, centered around three iconic estates: Château de Selle in Taradeau, acquired in 1912; Clos Mireille in La Londe-les-Maures, acquired in 1936; and Château Romassan in Le Castellet, acquired in 1956. Three estates, two appellations—Côtes de Provence and Bandol—and three distinct interpretations of the same region.
The 2025 vintages beautifully reflect this diversity. Shaped by an exceptionally rainy winter and spring followed by a hot, dry summer, the growing season demanded constant vigilance in the vineyards. Early harvesting ultimately yielded wines defined by freshness, tension, and expressive aromatics.
In the Côtes de Provence appellation, Château de Selle Rosé 2025 once again demonstrates its hallmark balance and refinement. Produced on some of the appellation’s most prized limestone soils, it exemplifies the elegant style that has helped define the reputation of the estate. Clos Mireille Rosé 2025 captures the grace of its maritime terroir. Influenced by the Mediterranean at every turn, this singular vineyard gives rise to a wine of remarkable brightness, delicacy, and sophistication. Finally, Château Romassan Rosé 2025, from the Bandol appellation, showcases the depth and structure that characterize the region’s great Mourvèdre-based wines.
Despite their distinct personalities, these three cuvées share a common philosophy: an artisanal approach to viticulture rooted in respect for the soil, patience, and the pursuit of the purest expression of terroir. That commitment has been further strengthened by the estates’ organic certification, officially achieved beginning with the 2022 vintage, as well as vineyard practices inspired by biodynamic principles.
One hundred and thirty years after its founding, Domaines Ott continues to define what great Provence rosé can be: elegant, expressive, and unmistakably rooted in its terroirs.
