James Perse and the art of California living

Born in Los Angeles, James Perse has chosen Paris’s Golden Triangle for its first flagship in the French capital. Already established internationally with 60 boutiques worldwide, including New York, London and Tokyo, the brand now showcases its vision of California living across 650 square meters and three levels. Visitors are welcomed by a collaboration with Maxfield, the iconic retailer founded by the designer’s father. Surfboards created in partnership with the legendary rock band Grateful Dead serve as a reminder of one of the West Coast’s defining pastimes. Upstairs, the brand’s signature cotton T-shirts sit alongside men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, handbags, footwear, accessories and lifestyle pieces. Downstairs, fellow Los Angeles label Freecity displays its familiar motto: “Life, Nature, Love.” The result is a relaxed California lifestyle elevated by a touch of Parisian elegance.
