Akris gives the Alice Mini Bag a graphic new twist

For Summer 2026, Akris injects fresh momentum into one of its mostrecognizable creations. The Alice Mini Bag – named after the house’s founder Alice Kriemler-Schoch – returns in vibrant new iterations that feel graphic, luminous and unmistakably modern. Crafted in the house’s signature horsehair, the bag captures the artistic spirit of the season while reaffirming Akris’ enduring obsession with exceptional materials and refined craftsmanship.

This season, creative director Albert Kriemler looked to the work of American minimalist artist Leon Polk Smith, whose bold geometric compositions inspired the entire Spring 2026 collection. Presented at the Palais de Tokyo during Paris Fashion Week, the collection explored the dialogue between color, structure and movement through sharp lines softened by fluid textures and airy silhouettes. Vogue noted how Smith’s vibrant abstract universe became the visual anchor of the collection, translating into sculptural tailoring, luminous fabrics and dynamic graphic motifs.

Against this artistic backdrop, the Alice Mini Bag emerges as one of the season’s standout accessories. Horsehair – one of Akris’ signature materials – becomes a canvas for vivid flashes of sun yellow, lapis blue and saturated orange inspired directly by Smith’s paintings. The result is both tactile and architectural, with a remarkable sense of depth and brilliance.
