Matthieu Pauline, a pâtisserie as arty as it is delicious
For lovers of soft, marbled, caramelized, praline, and melt-in-your-mouth indulgence, this new address opened by Matthieu Turin and Pauline Zerouali is a delight. The duo, graduates of Ferrandi and the Strasbourg Hotel School, first met at the George V. One turned to fashion, the other to luxury events in Mauritius and at the Royal Monceau. Later, as luxury caterers, they dreamed of opening a pâtisserie that reflected them. That dream is now realized in this irresistibly gourmet spot, with wood-lined walls (by Necchi Architecture) and a mural of an extraordinary garden painted in gold leaf by artist Pauline Leyravaud. On Sundays, large bowls of chocolate mousse or salted-caramel rice pudding to take away bring joy to family tables. Come early – everything disappears quickly each day!
