Chez Clo: a new kind of parisian bistronomy

In this lively stretch of Folie-Méricourt where neighborhood cafés effortlessly give way to late-night bars, Chez Clo has taken over the former La Datcha space with a clear ambition: put food back at the center while keeping the party alive around it.

Jordan Corrette dedicated the address to his mother, Clo – a figure associated with generosity and conviviality – while chef Justine Audoin, trained at Ferrandi, oversees the kitchen and Marine Neuilly curates the soundtrack. The crowd follows the rhythm naturally: neighborhood regulars at lunch, thirty-something dinner tables in the evening, couples arriving early and groups ordering rounds of plates before the atmosphere gradually turns more festive upstairs.

The setting helps enormously: soaring ceilings, exposed beams, Art Deco mirrors, candlelight and low lighting create a mood that shifts seamlessly from dinner to nightlife. On the plate, Audoin delivers a direct and intelligent form of bistronomy – vegetable-forward when appropriate, more carnivorous when the ingredients demand it. The meal might begin with a trio of flavored butters – smoked, preserved lemon-lovage and anchovy- caper – served with focaccia, followed by oysters with brown butter ice cream, sorrel and puffed buckwheat, white asparagus with cultured buttermilk (€15), or artichoke chawanmushi with watercress and XO sauce (€16). The BBQ monkfish with marrow pil pil, myrtle and agretti (€22) adds remarkable depth, while the glazed beef tongue skewer with herb yogurt and spicy apple sauce (€18) fully embraces its eccentricity. Dessert remains equally surprising: mushroom ice cream with shortbread and hazelnut praline (€9).

Chez Clo anchors the table beautifully before letting the night take over.Lunch formula €22.
