A “tote’ally” sizzling summer

This summer’s bags invite you to urban getaways or further afield odysseys by the water or in the desert. Imagined in raffia or wicker and punctuated with leather, basket, bucket-shaped bag, pouch, and tote bag punctuate the solar wardrobe.

 

 

DIOR

Playing with the house’s codes, such as the Toile de Jouy print cherished by Monsieur Dior, the ready-to-wear, leather goods, and shoes from the Dioriviera summer capsule collection are lit up in pastel shades. Named Toile de Jouy Sauvage, this colored variation is deployed on clothes and bags, like the lining of the Lady Dior bag in woven wicker.

 

LOUIS VUITTON

At the heart of the LV by the pool summer collection, Keepall, Louis Vuitton’s signature bag plays with contrasts. It is punctuated by a Monogram embroidery, a handle, and leather trims. Its innovative raffia-like material – made from natural cotton – gives a flexible texture to this model. Ideal for a day at the beach or an island getaway.


LONGCHAMP

The Parisienne according to Longchamp is glamorous and modern. She starts her day by putting on a denim-style blazer and pants set or a romper. Her centerpiece is the Box-Trot bag in canvas and leather, which brings a bright touch to her outfit.


ANNE FONTAINE

The designer has always imagined accessories to accompany her famous white shirts and her collections of dresses, jackets, and tops. This summer, she unveils the Roseau bag. Cylindrical in shape, it is designed in hand-woven raffia with a bamboo handle. Made in Brazil, the model is decorated with a triple frill on the front.

CHANEL
High summer is in full swing at Rue Cambon with this model designed by the couture house. A large tote bag is made in a textile material whose weave is reminiscent of raffia. Designed in black and white, Chanel’s flagship colors, it comes with a chain and metal handle.

 

CELINE

Hedi Slimane, the creative director of the house Celine, imagines a textile whose weave replicatesthe weaving of raffia. This material dresses a series of solar accessories like this pouch lined with leather and decorated with the brand’s mythical logo.

 

VANESSA BRUNO

Mexico is undoubtedly a city that fascinates the world of fashion right now. Vanessa Bruno draws inspiration from the ancient Aztec capital with a capsule collection dedicated to Mexican craftsmanship. Fifty ready-to-wear pieces and just as many accessories are on offer, including dedicated concepts named ‘Mexico mi Amor’ in her seasonal boutique in Saint-Tropez and in Paris.

 

 

LOEWE

As every summer, the Spanish brand unveils the Loewe Paula’s Ibiza collection. Inspired by the bohemian and artist style of the eponymous boutique located on the island and opened in 1972 by Armin Heinemann, this line is composed of both ready-to- wear pieces and accessories like this Petal basket in raffia and leather, which takes you in a blink of an eye to the Balearic island.

LE BON MARCHÉ RIVE GAUCHE

On the occasion of the ‘Les Bons Marchés de l’été’ exhibition, the grand department store on the Left Bank unveils a collection of woven bags. Produced in partnership with the Moroccan basketry cooperative Doum For Women, which aims to integrate and support rural women from the village of Touggana, in Marrakech, it consists of a basket, a tote bag, and a bucket-shaped bag in woven palm leaves and leather.

PRADA

Raffia is in all collections, like the model imagined by Prada. A hand-made maxi tote bag with a soft and deconstructed design is made from raffia-effect thread, a natural and lightweight material with a summer spirit. It is adorned with the letter logo embroidered on the front and the iconic triangle logo in enamelled metal on the back.


GUCCI

Gucci unveils its collaboration with Loulou Ramatuelle Beach Club in Saint-Tropez. Until the end of September, the famous beach club is redecorated by the Florentine house. The space also hosts a Gucci pop-up store offering an exclusive capsule collection imagined for Saint-Tropez and pieces from the Summer Stories collection.
