Tag Heuer Connected by design
After the launch of a first version in 2015, Swiss watch brand TAG Heuer has issued a new modular version of its Connected Modular timepiece. More efficient and, above all, more water tight, this shape-shifting watch is one of the most surprising of the year. Benefiting from a fairly streamlined contemporary look, its multifaceted design doesn’t immediate strike the eye. In fact, the Connected Modular 45 is quite similar to the first edition, while benefiting from the latest advances in technology. Once again developed in partnership with Intel, it has a built-in GPS, an NFC sensor for risk-free contactless payment, and is equipped with a very high definition Amoled screen. With Google Wear 2.0 and a new Companion App to simplify all of these operations, it connects users with their friends, contacts and provides them with useful information. According to Jean-Claude Biver, president of the watchmaking branch of LVMH: “In crafting this watch, no compromises were made on design. Only high-quality materials have been used, such as titanium, ceramic, and rose gold.” Not simply luxurious, it is above all modular: its connected caliber, water resistant to 50m, can be detached from its lugs, strap and buckle, and replaced by a prestigious mechanical movement such as the first COSC-certified TAG Heuer chronograph combined with a tourbillon or the Carrera Calibre 5. The system allows you to combine and associate compatible elements in different ways to create a watch tailored to your image. Future owners will possess a multifunctional and totally unique timepiece, both in terms of technology and style.
