Alma, the authenticity of a bistro
The famous Café de l’Alma changes hands and is transformed under the aegis of Jeanne Boudon, heiress of the Boudon family, already owner of the Fontaine de Mars, Petit Lutetia and Éclair. He also simplified his name and became Alma. The duo of interior architects Gilles and Boissier completely redesigned the Café de l’Alma into an urban and vitamin-packed English cottage. Behind a bright white façade, the dining room harmoniously blends Burgundy stone, sandstone, oriental zelliges, British woodwork and floral fabrics, all on a leopard carpet inspired by the style of Madeleine Castaing. The result: a cosmopolitan, cosy and attractive setting. When the sun is shining, it’s the large terrace, which can accommodate up to 60 guests, that creates a sensation. Far from the fusion trend, L’Alma focuses on tradition with authentic French bistro cuisine whose dishes in the colours of the terroir delight the taste buds. In the spotlight, a pan of mushrooms, soft egg and asparagus/truffle emulsion (€16), a fillet of sea bass with virgin oil and candied lemon and vegetable barigula (€34) or veal liver with raspberry vinegar and polenta cake (€33). To finish in style, succumb to the vanilla sprouts and praline chocolate sauce (€14). L’Alma promises a delightful culinary experience in a warm and refined setting. Don’t wait to eat there!
