In recent years, the double-C brand has been doubling down on expanding and renovating its global network of stores. Following Milan, Los Angeles, and the Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré location, it’s now the Madeleine store’s turn to change its look. Staying true to the Chanel spirit, of course. The “new” 420 sq.m. boutique has retained its two distinct entrances – one “official” on Rue Royale and the other in the discreet enclave of Cité Berryer, which houses other luxury brands. Another constant is the decoration by star architect Peter Marino, who has been faithful to the aesthetic and characteristic codes of the Chanel house
for nearly thirty years, creating an atmosphere of understated luxury (marble, lacquer, granite, onyx, black, gold, off-white…). Additionally, artist Jean-Michel Othoniel has once again designed a massive pearl sculpture cascading from ceiling to floor, resembling a swirling necklace, obviously echoing Mademoiselle Chanel’s iconic choker…
