Like painters before a canvas, the great names of Place Vendôme compose adornments where color bursts into life. The solar blue of turquoise meets the green of malachite. The deep blues of lapis lazuli and sodalite flirt with the misty reds of carnelian and agate. The iridescent white of mother-of-pearl answers the warm brown of tiger’s eye. These chromatic duos and trios are set against the different shades of gold, at times illuminated by white diamonds.
Ode to color
For the Clash family, Cartier shakes up the great classics of its design vocabulary – studs, beads and Clous de Paris – by bringing them together within a single piece. A geometric approach to jewelry that has defined the Maison since the 1930s. Interlocked and alternated, these rounded, studded motifs, polished by hand to a mirror-like finish, create a singular meshwork. To combine both structure and fluidity when worn, Cartier
developed an entirely new assembly technique. Today, Clash embraces color with red or green dyed agate, pink chalcedony and onyx adorning hoop earrings, rings, pendants and an XXL parure composed of a fully flexible yellow-gold bracelet and necklace, along with a dramatic three-finger ring.
While the world’s most exceptional gemstones have long punctuated the history of Van Cleef & Arpels, the jeweler also nurtures a deep affection for ornamental stones. They delicately enhance each new nature-inspired story so dear to the Maison. Endless sources of inspiration for Van Cleef & Arpels, flowers, insects and animals are reborn season after season within the Lucky Spring collection. This year, the joyful and endearing line – featuring a long necklace, a five-motif bracelet, a clip, a Between the Finger ring and a pair of earrings – brings together a ladybug alongside plum blossoms, lily-of-the-valley buds and delicate foliage crafted in precious metal, lapis lazuli, blue and green agate, and white mother-of-pearl. Van Cleef & Arpels also introduces a new butterfly motif in yellow gold and ornamental stones.
Globally renowned for its innate sense of nuance and bold color pairings, Bvlgari celebrates its signature fan-shaped Diva’s Dream motif. Sky-blue turquoise, lapis lazuli, mother-of-pearl, carnelian, malachite and onyx are enhanced by yellow or rose gold and a subtle line of diamonds across stud earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces. A charming detail on the necklaces, adjustable to two lengths: the delicate gold fan near the clasp may be personalized with an engraved message. Eight new creations – four pendants and four diamond-set rose-gold stud earrings – are adorned with ornamental stones including onyx, malachite and turquoise, as well as luminous mother-of-pearl.
Within this blue chromatic palette, one stone in particular appears to have captured the imagination of jewelers, with Louis Vuitton leading the way: sodalite. Deep azure blue, sometimes veined with white, gray or pink, the stone is mainly sourced from Afghanistan, Canada and Brazil. The Maison has embraced it for new creations
– pendants, long necklaces, stud earrings, open rings and yellow-gold bracelets, with or without white diamonds – at the heart of its Color Blossom collection. Sculpted in relief and polished by hand, each piece of sodalite takes the form of flowers with rounded or elongated petals, echoing the iconic Monogram Flower motif.
Pendant and earrings Opera Tulle collection
Finally, Buccellati offers a particularly distinctive vision of color. The Milanese Maison turns to colored enamel for its iconic Opera Color Tulle line. The jeweler’s logo motif in yellow gold forms the starting point of each creation. Its red, green or blue enamel background is overlaid with a delicate tulle featuring radial motifs and scalloped fan-shaped edges. The smallest logo element, crafted in white gold, is pavé-set with diamonds and adorned at its center with a yellow-gold lozenge-shaped detail.
Imagined for Dior in 2015 by Victoire de Castellane, the Rose des Vents collection continues to reinvent itself year after year. These new multicolored creations combine the signature eight-pointed stars with playful lucky charms shaped as lily-of-the-valley, hearts, roses, skulls, ivy and bees. Yellow, white and rose gold, platinum and diamonds illuminate mother-of-pearl, malachite, turquoise, lapis lazuli, tiger’s eye, pink opal, onyx, carnelian and glossy red ceramic lacquer across two-finger rings, bracelets, sautoirs and asymmetrical earrings.
