Les Sources de Vougeot Grand cru luxury

The visionaries behind the legendary Sources de Caudalie near Bordeaux – an address that helped redefine luxury wine tourism and pioneered a new approach to vineyard wellness – Alice and Jérôme Tourbier have now turned their attention to Burgundy with an exceptional new destination.

In the heart of Burgundy’s wine country, between Beaune and Dijon, Les Sources de Vougeot opens a new chapter in the art of living imagined by Alice and Jérôme Tourbier.

Following the success of Les Sources de Caudalie and Les Sources de Cheverny, the couple has taken up residence at the majestic Château de Gilly, a former residence of the abbots of Cîteaux and a listed historic monument.

Nestled among the prestigious grands crus of the Côte de Nuits, Les Sources de Vougeot brings together the elegance of a historic château, gastronomy, wine and a lifestyle deeply rooted in nature. The enchantment begins upon arrival. A drawbridge, ancient moats, formal French gardens, a river winding through the grounds and centuries-old stone buildings create a setting suspended in time. The estate possesses that rare atmosphere found in great family homes, where luxury feels understated, natural and profoundly soothing.

Inside, history meets refined contemporary design. Beneath Gothic vaults and traditional French beamed ceilings, natural materials, designer furnishings and soft tones come together with remarkable elegance. The 49 rooms and suites extend this subtle dialogue between heritage and modernity. Some offer spectacular volumes, others overlook the gardens or moats, while the charming Moulin, set along the banks of the Vouge River, provides an especially romantic retreat.

Gastronomy naturally stands among the highlights of the experience. At L’Auberge des Cîteaux, chef Julien Martin celebrates the generous, convivial spirit of Burgundy through classics reimagined with finesse, while at Le Clos de la Tour, the gastronomic restaurant immerses guests in an intimate, almost monastic atmosphere. Having trained alongside two-Michelin- starred chef Nicolas Masse at Les Sources de Caudalie, Martin presents a cuisine that is vibrant, elegant and deeply anchored in Burgundy’s terroir. Wine lovers will find much to savor as well, thanks to a remarkable selection of Burgundy crus conceived as a journey through the Climats vineyards recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Another jewel of the estate is the Caudalie Spa, housed beneath the centuries-old vaults of the château’s former wine cellar. Among stone columns, reflecting pools, treatment rooms and signature vinotherapy rituals, the experience invites complete disconnection. Rarely has a spa offered such a powerful sensation of stepping directly into history while enjoying a distinctly contemporary vision of well-being.

An outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, private tastings, cycling excursions through the vineyards and tailor-made visits to some of the finest estates of the Côte de Nuits complete an address that is already establishing itself as one of Burgundy’s most compelling destinations. Les Sources de Vougeot succeeds in capturing the very essence of the region: elegance, patience and a profound passion for wine.

After relaxing in one of the rooms at Les Sources de Vougeot and enjoying the indoor pool and the Caudalie Spa, Chef Julien Martin delights guests at the Auberge des Cîteaux.
