Sheltered beneath the watchful presence of the Vendôme Column, which lends Rue de la Paix its incomparable perspective, the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme feels like a rare gem amid the neighborhood’s legendary jewelers. Luxury here is understated and refined, woven into every detail of the contemporary interiors imagined by legendary designer Ed Tuttle. Enhanced by carefully curated artworks, the décor strikes a harmonious balance with the surrounding Haussmann architecture. Tuttle endowed the property with the intimacy of a discreet private address—one whose name might be shared only among insiders—as well as something more elusive: the feeling of being both elsewhere and entirely at home.
A sanctuary defined by what General Manager Gorka Bergareche describes as “precision hospitality,” the hotel is animated by a team devoted to crafting singular experiences and unforgettable memories for every guest.
Summer is always an occasion here, particularly when the hotel’s hidden terrace comes alive beneath fragrant lemon trees. The seasonal menu follows suit, celebrating the generous flavors of the Mediterranean through impeccably sourced ingredients and vibrant aromatic herbs. This summer also marks the arrival of an exclusive iced afternoon tea by pastry chef Naraé Kim.
Art, too, plays a leading role this season. Extending the spirit of Diane Benoît du Rey’s exhibition Luminance, which explores the movement and transformation of light, the experience continues at Café Jeanne through a collection of cocktails whose graphic presentation and aromatic complexity echo the artist’s iridescent glass sculptures and luminous oil paintings. Expanding her creative universe even further, the artist has also designed bespoke ice cream coupes and dessert plates, elevating the pastry creations of the hotel’s acclaimed pastry chef into works of art in their own right.
“More than a simple sweet indulgence, this afternoon tea captures the essence of a summer afternoon,” says Bergareche. “Each creation is an invitation to slow down and transform everyday moments into memorable sensory experiences.”
The journey continues at Pur’, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant led by Jean-François Rouquette and recently reimagined by designer Hugo Toro in warm, wood-toned hues. Marking two decades of collaboration between the chef and the hotel, the restaurant unveils a special partnership with The Macallan entitled Perfect Pairing. Conceived as a three-act culinary experience, the menu engages in a dialogue with the limited-edition Distil Your World Paris single malt—a whisky designed to capture the many facets of the French capital. The result is an inspired encounter between exceptional spirits and gastronomic artistry.
Three Questions for Gorka Bergareche
You previously worked at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme in 2008. How has the hotel evolved since then?
Its definition of luxury has continued to become more precise. As hoteliers, our mission is to remain curators of experiences. We haven’t evolved through radical transformation but through a deeper commitment to culture and to human expertise. We have grown from being an audacious newcomer at opening into an institution that helps shape the standards of contemporary luxury. A key part of that evolution has been our ability to highlight exceptional talents, such as our pastry chef Naraé Kim, who embodies this new era of French creativity.
Among Paris’s many luxury hotels, what sets the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme apart?
