Prince de Galles A taste of the Riviera

One of the crown jewels of The Luxury Collection, Prince de Galles invites guests on a Mediterranean journey without ever leaving Paris. Within its landmark Art Deco patio, Riviera-inspired cuisine, summer cocktails, and a gourmet brunch, the 5 star-hotel represented the ultimate destination for sophisticated travelers.

Set on Avenue George V, Prince de Galles remains one of Paris’s great Art Deco landmarks. Opened in 1929, the hotel still carries the spirit of that golden age, nowhere more vividly than in its historic patio. Framed by original mosaic-clad columns and soaring glass doors, the courtyard unfolds like a hidden garden in the heart of the Golden Triangle.

Palm trees rise above abundant greenery scented with hints of Côte d’Azur, creating an atmosphere that feels suspended somewhere between Paris and the Mediterranean. Open from noon until midnight, the patio welcomes both visitors and Parisians seeking a moment of escape, whether for lunch, dinner, or a leisurely cocktail as the afternoon light gradually gives way to evening. A Spritz Riviera, a Negroni, a white peach Bellini, or a Basil Martini all seem perfectly suited to the setting.

Art Deco elegance and Riviera glamour come together once again. Both enjoyed their heyday during the 1930s, when summers along the French coast became a rite of passage for aristocrats, artists, socialites, and discerning travelers from around the world.

The Patio’s menu is an invitation to explore the Mediterranean dishes : includes burratina from Puglia dressed with lemon-infused olive oil, charcoal-grilled octopus, vibrant Middle Eastern mezze, delicately caramelized pissaladière, a Riviera lobster roll, and seasonal dishes designed for sharing.

Desserts extend the Mediterranean reverie : a refreshing Coupe Prince de Galles, the Art Deco Affogato and the Tropézienne—generous, indulgent, and unmistakably evocative of Saint-Tropez

That same spirit finds its fullest expression during the Riviera Sunday Brunch, one of the season’s highlights. Every Sunday, the patio takes on a festive rhythm as lavish buffets unfold beneath the palms. Guests are invited to explore culinary delights, where grilled meats and beef tartare sit alongside king crab roulades, oysters, shellfish, smoked salmon, and a garlic-roasted turbot. Mediterranean favorites such as pain bagnat and Niçoise socca complete a menu that celebrates the warmth, generosity, and conviviality of summer.

Riviera Sunday Brunch: From 12:30pm to 3pm. Reservations are recommended by phone at 01 53 23 78 50 or by email at [email protected]
