Jonas Bowman at the Carreau du Temple
You can’t miss Jonas Bowman’s jewelry store in the Marais – either the products or the jeweler himself. Jonas is American. He’s lived in a tipi like an Indian – an experience reflected in some of his rings – and learned his trade in his father’s workshop in London. Self-taught, his creative freedom has caught the eye of Jared Letho, Pete Doherty and even Catherine Deneuve.
Like a timeless rock poem, he plays on several themes – nature, freedom, the Roaring Twenties, architecture and body shapes – and makes all of his jewelry in his store, often receiving customers himself to share his love of stones and taste for organic materials.
He takes his inspiration wherever he finds it, including pebbles, granite, exotic wood and marble or alloys of rare metals and natural materials, expertise and creativity. Although the store is only small, you need time to take it all in.
