Saint Laurent takes center stage on the Champs-Elysées
“Upon arriving in Paris, Yves Saint Laurent expressed his desire to see his name in lights on the Champs-Élysées” explains Anthony Vaccarello, the current artistic director of Saint Laurent. This wish has been fulfilled with the opening of the new (and largest) boutique – Saint Laurent’s seventh in the capita – majestically situated on the world’s most beautiful avenue. The imposing Haussmannian building, which has also undergone a facade renovation, presents all of Saint Laurent’s collections (including some exclusives) in an ultra-sleek space designed with concrete, marble, and dark wood, reminiscent of the most fashionable art galleries. This is evident when viewing furniture by American Donald Judd or the neon sculpture commissioned from British artist Cerith Wyn Evans. The epitome of chic, a private garden completes the picture.
