Leandro Erlich Retrospective

A building façade visitors can seemingly climb, levitating boats, clouds trapped inside glass boxes, uprooted houses suspended in midair and disorienting fitting rooms: the installations of conceptual artist Leandro Erlich are never merely observed – they are experienced.

This summer, the Grand Palais devotes its first major retrospective to the internationally acclaimed Argentine artist. Conceived as an immersive journey, the exhibition brings together some of Erlich’s most iconic works alongside a dedicated “Documentation Room” tracing the evolution of his creative universe from 1994 to 2026. Hovering somewhere between reality and illusion, Erlich’s work continuously destabilizes perception while preserving a sense of wonder that appeals equally to children and adults. A magician of the visible and invisible, he reminds visitors that art can still surprise us.
